Saturday Trip to Tucson

It's only Saturday night and already it's been a long weekend. I wasn't feeling well on Friday night, so the entire night was pretty much a waste. I watched the Phoenix Suns vs. Miami Heat game and some of the NCAA Tournament games, but the teams I wanted to see win didn't.

The Suns game was a pretty good game, they got close but Dwyane Wade simply controlled the entire game, including the Play of the Year. Wade blocked an Amare Stoudemire shot in the key, caught the ball & heaved it over 50 feet towards the Heat basket and got nothing but net... The block & subsequent shot pretty much took all of the Suns confidence away and the Heat pulled out the 10 point win.

Moving on to Saturday... We had plans to go see a relative in one of the prison's down in Tucson, but we weren't 100% sure we were going until about 9 AM this morning. The trip to Tucson took us about one and a half hours (we were haulin' ass) and ended up getting to the prison around 12 PM. After screwing up and going to the wrong complex, we finally get where we need to go and the stupid guard tells me I can't wear my "blue shirt" because it's against their rules.

We printed out the rules before we left and nowhere on the damn form did it say "no blue shirts"; it said no tan and no orange, but nowhere did it say blue. Besides that, the shirt was a very bright blue and white striped shirt - hardly similar to anything the prisoners would've been given. Oh by the way - the prisoners haven't worn blue for quite some time now, so I have no freakin' idea why blue is not allowed.

Not being able to enter as I was dressed, I went back to the nearest gas station and purchased a T-Shirt (which was a ripoff) and then went back to re-attempt entry to the prison. This time no problem.

The time in the prison was great - no problems there...

The ride home sucked because there was a ton of traffic and my girlfriend and I were both exhausted, so it seemed like forever before we got back to Phoenix. It would've been nice if we could've gone straight home, but we had to stop at two stores to prep for Easter Sunday. So another hour or two goes by before we actually get home; it's now about 6:30 PM.

I got home and both the Suns and Arizona Wildcats were on TV at the same time, so I watched the end of both games (Suns win, Wildcats lose) and wished I could be sleeping.

My girlfriend was moody and hungry so I ended up going to get Long John Silver's, which ended up being really good. I had never eaten there so I didn't know what to expect.

And if that weren't a long enough day, one of the servers that I am responsible for managing had been going on/offline all day.

Looking forward to a relaxing Easter Sunday tomorrow...

Cory
